Caribou – “Our Love”
Canadian producer Dan Snaith’s fifth album as Caribou, titled Our Love, is due to be released on October 7th in North America via Merge Records. The title track combines cerebral textures with sounds deeply rooted in club music as a sensual vocal sample is paired with a deep, rumbling bass line and the artist’s typically eccentric synths. A breakdown at around the 2:30 mark makes way for a more straightforward club approach led by a kinetic bass riff and vibrant synth stabs.

Les Sins – “Bother”
Chaz Bundick is best known for his project Toro Y Moi which started as hazy, bedroom pop before progressing to smooth, slightly eccentric funk and soul. His lesser known side project, Les Sins, debuted in 2012 with a pair of singles on Jiaolong records and now Bundick has released the latest track from the project, “Bother.” With chopped vocals and a driving rhythm, the track builds to a soaring breakdown with shredding guitar before smoothly returning to the original hook. Look for Les Sins’ debut album, Michael, out on December 4th via Carpark.

Alma Construct – “On The Edge, Surrounded With The Shores Of Assudrey”
Longtime leader in independent electronic music, R&S records has always been known for their output of groundbreaking young talent, whether it be Aphex Twin, James Blake, or Lone, the label has served as a platform for countless emerging producers. Their latest signing, 19-year-old Jack Thompson aka Alma Construct, continues this tradition as his lead single, “On The Edge, Surrounded With The Shores Of Assudrey,” is a captivating, sprawling track with vocals that fade in and out, carefully layered melodies and a slow-crawling groove that eventually relents for a more ethereal outro. The producers’ self-titled debut EP is out August 26th via R&S records.
