Yesterday Purity Ring released "Fineshrine," their haunting and euphonic track that will be found on their upcoming debut album Shrines. With the moderately disturbing imagery and serene instrumentals, Purity Ring entraps a listener in a three minute and 33 second world. The artwork of a lamb laying solemnly on a black canvas brings powerful images to mind: innocence, sacrifice, and purity. Anyone appreciative of good music can enjoy this track, but it seems that perhaps only those that possess that special darkness become truly enveloped. This, and each of their tracks, are a poetic goldmine.
"Cut open my sternum and pull, my little ribs around you...you make a fineshrine in me."
Shrines will be released July 24, 2012 via 4AD
