Irish punk booze-hound band, Dropkick Murpheys will hit the stage of The Rapids Theatre tonight with fellow troublemakers Against Me. The Boston band is known for their unique blend of Irish classical folk music with a hardcore/punk twist, creating a very intense Celtic-like adrenalin rush. Its the kind of music that's perfect for a bar fights, Martin Scorsese films or setting the mood for a hockey power play. I remember a couple of years ago when the Dropkick Murpheys played Thursday In the Square. There were so many people, wild with punk enthusiasm, I seriously thought a riot might ensue if the place ran out of beer. If that show taught me anything, it was that this band has one serious fan base. Unfortunately for the casual fan, tonight's show is sold out, so unless you can find a ticket on ebay, stubhub, or craigslist, your probably shit out of luck. doors open at 7
